“Thanks John Lawson, Phil Lovell and your team at Lawson & Lovell for creating the house we’ve been dreaming of. Our project came with quite a few challenges, and I must admit there was a time that we considered not going ahead, and even if we did, wondered what builder would be able to step up to the task? Our access is limited, on a steep block with a battle-axe driveway, and we’re in the highest rating Bushfire Attack Level (BAL) Flame Zone, backing onto a reserve that is fiercely protected by Council. 

We chose Lawson & Lovell for a number of reasons. Firstly, they’ve build fire shutters into the ceiling space before, which was a must for us. Secondly, they’ve had a lot of experience building to BAL Flame Zone requirements, which are detailed and highly regulated, and thirdly, we had the experience of not only John Lawson, but also his business partner, Phil Lovell to overcome some tricky obstacles such as our awkward staircase. We realised we were on an even bigger win however, when we started working with their foreman on our project, Jeremy Bos. Jeremy kept tradies focused and on task and coordinated everyone so as to conform to time restraints and quality control. They were professional, respectful and hard working, making us feel that our best interests were most important and they weren’t focused on making money, rather, doing quality work and even offering cheaper alternatives where possible. 

We were particularly impressed with the quality of workmanship that Lawson & Lovell demanded from their trades and contractors. They don’t hesitate in insisting work is re-done if not up to their high standard. I was very appreciative that Lawson & Lovell had our back when we wouldn’t have noticed some things until we’d moved in.
